Ironwood Resorts teams with
Rocky Mountain Power on
Sustainability Practices

Ironwood Resorts has teamed up with Rocky Mountain Power to purchase 100% renewable wind energy for their developments in Deer Valley® Utah. Both construction power and ongoing power after occupancy are achieved through wind power purchases equivalent to the use during either phase. By purchasing clean wind energy Ironwood Resorts is significantly reducing their carbon footprint over traditional coal based energy. This is the first of many steps Ironwood resorts is taking to lessen their impact on the local and world-wide environment. Certified green buildings are quickly becoming the norm and Ironwood Resorts is leading the way in eco-friendly luxury development.

Ironwood Resort Development: Piece of the West
By Hanna Aronovich

Friday, 21 September 2007
Americans are going West, which is good news for Ironwood Resort Development. Jack Koson, president of the luxury development firm, says that more Americans are purchasing seasonal homes in the mountains, as opposed to – or sometimes in addition to – a beach house.

“In the past, people weren’t familiar with the mountains and how great it is here, especially with all the outdoor activities,” Koson notes. “But, we know the mountains – it’s our niche – and we think it’s a place that more and more Americans are going to want a piece of”...

Working with skilled contractors and construction management firms is key, which is why Ironwood selects leaders in the field. Jacobson Construction Co., for example, is one of Ironwood’s project partners...

Based in Utah, Jacobson is a leader in the intermountain region. The firm worked with Ironwood on the Silver Strike Lodge. Located in Empire Pass, Utah, “Silver Strike will offer amenities not yet seen in Empire Pass,” Jacobson says.

Scheduled for occupancy by the spring of 2008, the Silver Strike Lodge will consist of 39 ski-in/ski-out luxury condominium units with a variety of floor plans for clients to choose from.

Ironwood Resort Development Goes Green

Ironwood Resort Development Goes Green

Ironwood Resort Development is employing new "green" friendly building techniques in all current projects. We strive to build responsibly and take every effort to build energy efficient, sustainable developments that minimize long-term environmental impact. Some of our standard building practices include far greater than normal insulation in all interior and exterior walls, ceilings and roofs as well as Low-E glass windows to reduce heat transmission. Cement shingle siding and roofs are fire resistant and save on wood consumption. Filters and traps in all garage drainage reduce impact on local watersheds. Power both in construction and in the completed building is provided by wind-power reducing fossil fuel emissions.

Ironwood Dedicates Hank's Cabin

Ironwood Dedicates Hank's Cabin

March 24, 2006, PARK CITY, UT -- The developers of Ironwood Condominiums at Empire Pass invite the press to attend the dedication of Hank's Cabin on Tuesday, March 28th, at 5 p.m. The event will honor Hank Rothwell, retired Chief Executive Officer of United Park City Mines. The ADA-compliant cabin is reminiscent of an authentic turn-of-the-century miner's cabin, and sits along the mountainside with direct ski access from The Northside Express Chairlift. The 500-square-foot cabin will be open for owners and guests of Ironwood to enjoy.

"Hank's Cabin pays tribute to the man with the vision for the Empire Pass area," said Jack Koson, president of Ironwood Resort Development. "Rather than settling for a high-density, commercial project, Hank Rothwell set the standard for nothing less than the ecologically sound, low-density community Empire Pass has become… "We have great admiration for this exceptional setting, and sincerely thank Hank for it," Koson added.

The new Empire Pass area of Deer Valley is located in the former Guardsman's Pass area, just south of Park City's historic Main Street. Empire Pass spans 3,500 acres, with breathtaking alpine views, and is now home to some of the finest skiing at Deer Valley® Resort, including the nine chairlifts of Flagstaff Mountain. Approximately 90% of Empire Pass will remain open space in perpetuity.

For directions to Hank's Cabin or for more information about the dedication taking place this Tuesday at 5 p.m., contact Jack Koson or Matt Mullin of Ironwood Resort Development, 435-940-4707.
